Calm Away ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Calm Away mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your email address via Firebase Authentication. We use this to identify your account and communicate with you about the Service.

Dog Profile Data

You provide your dog's name and an optional photo to use the training features. Profile data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and photos are stored in Google Cloud Storage, both associated with your account.

Training and Behavior Logs

You may log events such as enrichment activities, encounters, care tasks, journal entries, and training sessions. Each event includes a timestamp and may include notes and a rating. This data is stored in Firestore under your account.

Medications

You may record medication names to track your dog's care routine. Medication records are stored in Firestore under your account.

Training Session Data

When you run a video training session the Service records session metadata (status, timestamps). Video streams are transmitted in real time via Daily.co and are not recorded or stored by Calm Away.

Camera and Microphone

The camera device (the second device watching your dog) accesses camera and microphone to stream live video to your iOS app during a session. This media is transmitted through Daily.co and is not recorded, stored, or accessed by Calm Away servers.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the training features of the Service
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account
• Improve reliability and fix bugs
• Communicate with you about your account or the Service

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Calm Away:

• Google Cloud / Firebase — authentication, data storage, file storage, hosting
• Daily.co — real-time video infrastructure (no recordings stored)

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers.

Data Retention

We retain your account and training data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.

Your Rights

You may:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date.
